David Singer,  an expecting father was playing Poker in the World Series of Poker in June 08′ when he told his wife, if she went into labor during the tournament, he would stop playing and drive her to the hospital.  After all, he was her Lamaze coach and all his friends were betting that she would go into labor that day. Well, Dave did finish the tournament and won $214,122 by winning  the $1,500 buy in-pot limit hold’em event.

Singer is a former law attorney from Brooklyn, N.Y. who now lives in Las Vegas.  After the birth of his new baby he sent a picture of his new baby to the nurse at the hospital because she is a Poker fan and recognized him from the televised tournament.  A week after his son was born, Singer was back at the tournament room inside the Rio. 

He cashed out in 58th place in a $5,000 buy in a limit  event, winning  a total of $10,650. A few days later he won $12,641 with a $3,000 buy in.  Singers run at the World Series of Poker has listed him among the top 5  in the tournaments power rankings, which could lead to additional money down the road for him.

Singer plans on staying focus on his family, however, this is his job right now.  He plays Poker because he has bills like every one else does. He knows that family comes first and he plans on taking his family on vacation as soon as his newborn son gets old enough to fly overseas.  Singer enjoys playing Poker and says that when he reaches his goal of 5 million he will retire.  Singer currently has won more than 1.3 million dollars since his very first tournament.
