Poker players all around the U.S. are hoping that Obama is going to pass a new law that allows Online Gambling in the U.S.  The on;y way to insure that this law passes is to first get Obama elected as president.  Obama has admitted to being a card player, he has stated in the past that he would rather have the U.S. regulate the Online Casinos than make people criminals because they participate in it.  Poker players at the World Series of Poker are hoping that the law changes soon and they believe that Barack Obama is the man to do it.

Obama is currently leading over McCain in most projections for the presidency, so most of the Professional Gambling Players for the World Series are not worried. The Professional Poker players have made mention that if Obama runs his presidency the way he plays poker, they will sleep good at night.  It has also been said that when Obama does become president the Online Casino market will explode and people all around the U.S. will get to see how much fun and how much money can be made because Online Gambling is now legal.

On October 13, 2006 president George W. Bush signed the SAFE Port Act, which has changed the way the government regulates gambling. It used to be each state controlled  what the rules where. Since the bill was passed now the government regulates it. Well because the Congress is controlled by the Democrats they could squeeze a bill through the Senate, however, Bush would veto it. So we just have to wait for Obama to be there to let it fly.

Assuming Obama is nominated and wins, the Democrats will keep control of Congress and there will be a change in federal law.   It probably won’t take affect until 2010, or even later.  The law will go back to allowing the states to decide. If a state wants to allow the residents to bet online, then they can.  This is how horse racing exist today.  So if you want to gamble online, vote for Obama.
