Online Casinos

Back in 2006 Congress passed a new bill (UIGEA) Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act, most people think that this bill makes online gambling illegal, however, it actually only requires banks in the United States to decline any money transactions that are going to online casinos.  Many members of the US Treasury as well as members from the American Bankers Association are expressing the need to dissolve this bill because of the many flaws it has and also how it is unenforceable.

Another well taken point was made when a spokesperson from  “Wells Fargo” stated the fact that on any given day their company handles over 30 Million transactions a day and there is no way that they can weed through all these transaction and pick out the transactions that are going Solly to online gambling  web sites.   He  also went on to say that if they did take the time, effort and energy to do such a thing that it would take away from the quality service that they provide their current customers.  He also stated that in all actuality they would have to hire more employees, train these employees, and this would now affect his bottom line.

The head of the Federal Reserves Bank stated that the (UIEGA) 2006 is way to vague and impossible to enforce.  How are we supposed to be able to tell the difference between legal and illegal bank transactions when currently there are many legal online casinos that are still allowed to accept money from banks/online gamblers.  The (UIGEA) 2006 does not describe nor does it explain what, when, who specifically is not allowed to receive money from. This bill should of never been passed and needs to be dissolved or at least looked at.

A reporter from Online Casino Advisory stated recently in a article that he wrote, his headline read ” Congressional Hearing   Finds Unanimous Disapproval Of UIGEA”.  That is a pretty strong title to an article, I might add.  He went on to say that “The UIEGA is so poorly written that actual enforcement of this law against online gambling is problematic at best”.  Just this one line in this article should turn heads. we will see what happens, vote for Obama!!
