Every expert out there wants to tell you what to do in your blackjack game. I am here to tell you what you shouldn’t do in bj. Don’t use insurance unless you count cards. You should only use insurance when you know for certain the dealer has blackjack, and you will only know this information if you are a card-counter. Don’t forget the surrender option, but don’t overuse it. Only use the surrender feature if you have a nine or ten and your cards equal 15 or 16, and the dealer has a nine or ten. Do not surrender with a hard 12 or 13; this move is basically giving the casino your money.

Online Gambling in the US has gone through some turmoil in the past year, but there is still hope that it will be turned around very soon. Last April there was a significant poker indictment that led three prominent online poked companies to be seized and many owners and an accomplice behind bars.

One of these accomplices was Ira Rubin. Rubin assisted all three companies, Full Tilt, PokerStars, and Absolute Poker, in the transferring of tens of millions of dollars in illegal gambling earnings.

Earlier this month he pleaded guilty to count of conspiracy to commit bank and wire fraud, and participating in a money laundering conspiracy. Along with these please he also admitted to deceiving US banks while processing payments for the three poker companies.

Rubin may have gotten caught, but there are several that flew under the radar. It is common knowledge that businesses, much like Rubin’s, are hired to set up bank accounts and residences in locations outside of the US. This act is illegal.
How this could all be avoided? Well, the US Government could start regulating online gambling. Regulating and taxing online poker alone would produce as much as 40 billion dollars in tax dollars in as little as ten years. Will this happen? Only time will tell. The rumors are true; Bodog will no longer be accepting wagers from US players. By the end of 2011 their contract will have expired with Morris Mohawk Gaming, based out of Canada, and they will start a new licensing agreement with The UK Gambling Commission. Bodog will change their name to “Bodog.eu” from “Bodog.com.”

Founder Calvin Ayre is very excited about the prestige and added trust that comes with a licensing agreement from UK Gambling Commission. He is working on expanding the brand in many ways; they have even started distributing coffee. Their aim is produce a brand “not unlike Virgin.”

They are currently ranking 13^th among online casinos and 2^nd among online casinos still accepting US players.

The decision to change licenses was made due to a lot of factors. The main one being the indictment on April 15^th with various US poker sites. Bodog is expanding in many areas, including Asia, and they do not want to risk being associated with and controversy.
